Koggala Srí Lanka

At the southern end of Sri Lanka lies a small village lost between the sea and coconut trees that invites the most relaxing experience. Flanked by a reef and the huge Koggala Lake, Koggala is the ideal setting to get lost in a unique world of nature and nuances, as well as being one of the key places to spot the famous stilt fishermen, locals who during World War II began using stilts to fish on beaches infested with remnants of planes and bombs. In addition to some Buddhist temples where some murals sent by Queen Victoria in the 19th century show off, Koggala is the best excuse to get lost in the microworld of Lake Koggala, its small islands specked with palm huts and wrapped in the cinnamon aroma found here by one of its main exponents.
